After courting controversy and admitting to some painful failings at Wimbledon, the talented Australians career appears to have hit a critical stage.There has been considerable concern from former players that the talented 21-year-old has lost his way and is in danger of wasting much of his great potential.Among them on Wednesday was Mark Philippoussis, the last Australian man to make a singles final at the All England Club.Hes just a little bit lost at the moment. Hes young.Kyrgios admitted that he didnt always love tennis after his fourth-round defeat to Andy Murray at Wimbledon, having only managed to look competitive in the opening set.He also defended the way he got ready for his Centre Court appearance, sitting in the stands of an outside court for Lleyton Hewitts doubles match, but admitted?playing computer games in the morning may not have been the best preparation.Kyrgios has shown no intention of hiring a coach to advise him in such situations but both Philippoussis and Australias former doubles great Mark Woodforde have urged him to seek help.Perhaps he said things in his interview after the match that perhaps he shouldnt have said, Philippoussis said. Hes a very emotional player -- to say those things means he cares. This can be fixed: he needs a voice in his ear, guidance.Above all else, Philippousiss suggested, Kyrgios needs some structure in his life: You need to wake up in the morning with a purpose and a schedule.He doesnt have that structure and everyone needs that. I can guarantee you that Novak Djokovic, Murray, Rafael Nadal and Federer will all have that structure.
