ATLANTA -- Georgia could not overcome a season-high 27 turnovers in a 52-45 loss to Georgia Tech Sunday at McCamish Pavilion.The Lady Bulldogs fall to 3-1 overall this season and drop their first game against Georgia Tech (4-0) since 2010, snapping a streak of five-straight wins. Georgia still leads the all-time series 34-5.Caliya Robinson led Georgia with 15 points, 13 coming in the first half, but could not overcome nine turnovers on the day.Georgia just shot 17 percent from the floor in the opening five minutes, falling behind 10-4 early in the first quarter. Pachis Roberts scored all four of those points, with a trio coming off a 3-pointer at 6:43 on the clock. Techs lead was extended to 13-4 when Francesca Pan popped out and nailed a 3-point basket at the 3:55 mark. Robinson then came off the bench and scored seven points to cut Georgia Techs advantage to 15-11 at the end of the first quarter.Georgia was held scoreless for the first four minutes of the the second frame - that was until Mackenzie Engram knocked in her first shot of the game at 5:59. Robinson continued her first-half scoring spree, leading all scorers at the half with 13 points.Even though Robinson heated up in the second quarter, Tech still held on for a 28-23 advantage at the break thanks to 11 first-half points from Zaire ONeal and two crucial 3-pointers by Antonia Peresson.After trailing for nearly 18 minutes in the first half, the Lady Bulldogs finally grabbed their first advantage of the game off a Mackenzie Engram jumper at the 6:47 mark of the third period. Georgia maintained that lead the rest of the quarter and was up by a slim 39-37 advantage at the end of the frame despite Robinson picking up her fourth foul.In a back-and-forth second half, Tech retook a short-lived 43-41 advantage before Armbrister tied it back up at 45-45 late in the fourth quarter.
