As part of ESPN Fantasys efforts to give daily gamers intel on whom to target in DFS, our fantasy golf experts are here to share which players they view as building blocks for this weeks PGA Championship. The panel for the final major of 2016 features ESPN.coms Jason Sobel, Bob Harig, Jonathan Coachman, Kevin Maguire, Matt Barrie and Will Harris, and FantasyGolfInsiders Jeff Bergerson, Zach Turcotte, Taras Pitra and Jason Rouslin, as well as Dailyfantasybootcamp.coms David Jayne.Note: Golfer salaries listed are for DraftKings.Jason Sobel -- Sergio Garcia ($9,400) Each of this years first three major champions have been top-12 players who hadnt previously won a major. Keeping with that theme, weve got three potential candidates at Baltusrol: Rickie Fowler, Branden Grace and, yes, the long-suffering Garcia. Ive picked him to win majors before and have (obviously) been wrong, but this might finally be his time. If nothing else, he fits the pattern.Bob Harig -- Rory McIlroy ($11,400) The two-time PGA champ should be right in his element on a course that could be softened by thunderstorms and hot temperatures. Not fully fit last year at Whistling Straits in his return from an ankle injury, McIlroy nonetheless has four top-5 finishes in seven appearances in the tournament.Jonathan Coachman -- Dustin Johnson ($11,600) This is a tough pick, because so many guys are playing well. But over the past two years, a red-hot golfer has won at the beginning of August and then at the PGA Championship (Rory McIlroy and then Jason Day). So if I go by that logic, I have to pick Dustin Johnson. Not only did he win the U.S. Open, but then again at Firestone. And this week he finished in a tie for second in Canada without having even his B-game. And his A-game right now is better than everybody else.Kevin Maguire -- J.B. Holmes ($7,700) The man who will be a trivia question answer some day (as in ... who finished third when Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson ran away with the 2016 Open at Troon) likes big ballparks and Baltusrol certainly fits that to a T at 7,428 yards playing to a par-70. Holmes also finished third at Augusta in April, so hes been around the lead coming down the stretch at a major recently.Matt Barrie -- Sergio Garcia ($9,400) Garcia has been waiting, and playing really good golf, yet no one is paying attention. Its been all about Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth. Yet, Garcia has recorded two top-5s in the past two majors. That confidence, his swing and story will finally come full circle and end the games most storied major drought. Will Harris -- Charl Schwartzel ($7,300) Schwartzel ranks in the top 15 of both the oddsmakers betting order and in adjusted scoring versus this field over the past 10 weeks. Hes long enough and accurate enough for Baltusrol and just solid throughout the bag, ranking in the top 10 on Tour in several metrics measuring general tee-to-green proficiency. The 31-year old South African has been playing well all year, with two wins in early 2016 and currently riding six straight top 25s. His 2011 triumph at Augusta was one of 15 top 25s in his past 26 major championships. Schwartzel continues to be undervalued at just 36th in the DraftKings salary order despite profiling more like a top-10 entrant.Jeff Bergerson -- Hideki Matsuyama ($8,800)In large field events like the millionaire maker, you need to make moves that you normally wouldnt in much smaller fields or cash games. Hideki Matsuyama has been playing poor golf lately, but he is far from a poor player. Before his slump over the last four events, he had finishes of seventh at The Players, 11th at Wells Fargo Championship, T-7 at The Masters, and T-6 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. That should tell you that this guy is an elite level player with a huge upside. With his poor play lately, we get him at a depressed price of $8,800. I believe his ownership will be around 5 percent, which will set us apart from everybody if he performs well.Zachary Turcotte -- Brendan Grace ($8,000) Grace has been much maligned by the DFS community after his disappointing 72nd place finish at The Open two weeks ago. His price plummeted this week from $9,700 down to $8,000, a remarkable feat for a player ranked 12th in the world. If you look at how Grace handled himself at the U.S. Open (fifth place) and the WGC Bridgestone (10th place) you should have a good idea of what he is capable of for this type of layout coming in at 7,400 yards and playing as a par-70. At $8,000, Grace works really well in cash games and his recent lack of a big finish will keep his ownership levels at bay, making him an attractive GPP option, as well.Jason Rouslin -- Jason Dufner ($7,100)Jasons game seems to fit this course length and set up. His recent form is 3/3 in his last three starts including an eighth-place finish at the U.S. Open. He is a talented ball striker with a great tee to green game. His putter gives him issues, but he has been able to lock it down this season for tougher events. Look for Dufner to be in the hunt come Sunday. He is a former winner of the Wannamaker Trophy in 2013 and also earned a second place finish in 2011, so clearly he likes how the PGA sets up these types of courses for its championship event.Taras Pitra -- Charl Schwartzel ($7,300) It seems like its been ages since Charls win at the Valspar, but the finishes hes turned in since have been nothing short of impressive. In most cases with professionals changing equipment, weve seen a substantial regression in their game for the months following the change. Apparently Charl didnt get this memo and decided he wanted to sniff the top of the leaderboard following a change in clubs, and seems to have adjusted well.I will have exposure in cash and GPP events as he is a statistical fit for the course and seems to rank well among the top 10 this week.David Jayne -- Kevin Chappell ($6,700) When looking for value plays that should be well suited for Baltusrol, Ill be targeting golfers who excel with their long irons and score well on par 4s. Chappell fits the mold and is on his way to having his best season ever capped off by three runner-up finishes. While he hasnt played well in a major this year, he has performed in past PGA Championships and U.S. Opens, making the cut in six of eight appearances with three top-13 finishes. For the price, Chappell offers significant upside that others in this range do not, and he must be considered for your tournament teams. Adrian Phillips Jersey . In Europe, top teams seem to be largely happy with their squads after spending nearly $1 billion in the off-season. And although English league clubs are unlikely to splash cash in January, Arsenal and Chelsea could be tempted to strengthen their squads with new strikers. Junior Seau Jersey . In what the team had called a retirement, Ryan said Thursday that he is resigning as chief executive of the Rangers in a move effective at the end of this month. SAN FRANCISCO -- Shelby Miller soaked it all in as he returned to the big leagues at last, cherishing pitching in front of a sellout crowd in the rivals home ballpark after more than a month of making adjustments in the minors.Miller still has some work to do going deeper into games. Yet this was a decent start to getting back to where he believes he belongs, and the right-hander was unflappable after falling behind in the first inning -- something that before he admits might have thrown off his entire day.Miller (2-10) was called up from Triple-A Reno and took the loss for Arizona in a 4-2 defeat to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday. Pitching in the majors for the first time since July 6 and then being sent down on July 14, the 15-game winner with St. Louis in 2013 allowed two runs and six hits in six innings. It seems like when it rains it pours sometimes, the biggest thing you can do is just kind of block that out and realize you can either let that affect you, think the worst is happening and that this is going to continue, and thats when things go downhill, the 25-year-old Miller said. The biggest thing is to try to eliminate it, those things are going to happen, and get on with your game.Matt Moore (2-3) struck out seven over 5 1/3 innings for his first career victory at AT&T Park. He gave up one run and five hits in his first game since losing a no-hit bid with two outs in the ninth inning at Dodger Stadium. He was backed by a sensational running catch on Paul Goldschmidts sixth-inning drive from center fielder Gorkys Hernandez, who crashed into the wall to make the play.Manager Bruce Bochy was careful not to overwork Moore, who was done at 92 pitches after throwing 133 during the no-hit try at Los Angeles.Buster Posey drove in two runs for San Francisco, which is in second place in the NL West behind the Dodgers.Santiago Casilla relieved Sergio Romo with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth and struck out Yasmany Tomas. Casilla finished for his 29th save, giving up Jake Lambs two-out homer in the ninth.I felt good mechanically, kind of a little jittery there in the first inning, just getting back in that atmosphere, which is always so much fun to be a part of games where fans are there, Miller said of big league crowds.dddddddddddd.Posey doubled home a run in the first. Hunter Pence added an RBI single later that inning in his second game back after missing three with a strained right hamstring.Angel Pagan had an RBI double in the seventh and Posey hit a sacrifice fly as the Giants added insurance.San Francisco third baseman Eduardo Nunez got hit by Millers 91 mph fastball in the left ribcage area but stayed in the game in the bottom of the sixth after an athletic trainer and Bochy checked on him. He is expected to be fine to play Thursday.Arizona dropped just its fifth game in the last 16 at AT&T Park.FOR THE BIRDSA few pigeons camped out a few feet in front of the batters box in fair territory and never went away even as some players and coaches tried to shoo them.I was amazed, first of all that they didnt move, Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said. They werent scared of anything, and a couple of times when the ball was put in play, it didnt bother the fielders. So it was pretty impressive. We dont really work on that in spring training.TRAINERS ROOMDiamondbacks: Arizona optioned RHP Vicente Campos to Reno to make room for Millers return to the rotation.Giants: CF Denard Span was out of the lineup after leaving Tuesday nights loss in the seventh inning with a stiff neck. ... RHP Jake Peavy was still sore a day after receiving several shots of cortisone in his back.UP NEXTDiamondbacks: LHP Robbie Ray (7-12, 4.28 ERA) pitches against Colorado at Coors Field having gone 2-1 with a 1.50 ERA with 29 strikeouts and seven walks in his last four starts.Giants: RHP Jeff Samardzija (11-9, 4.00) pitches the opener Thursday against his former Cubs team in Chicago for the highly anticipated four-game series against the NL Central leaders. Its critical. I dont know if its quite make-or-break, Bochy said.
