NEW YORK -- Charles Barkley didnt want Kevin Durant to join the Golden State Warriors and isnt sure Durant changes things now that hes there. In Barkleys mind, the Warriors are still a flawed team.Let me say this: I still think they got some of the same issues this year with that team, Barkley said Tuesday. Can they rebound the ball? Theyre going to still be shooting jumpers. Theyre not going to get any low-post scoring. Can that type of play hold up through the rigors of the NBA playoffs? Im still going to say the same thing Ive always said: No.The Warriors won a record 73 games in the regular season but blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals and lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Golden State then signed Durant, the former NBA MVP, in the offseason.Thats made the Warriors the favorites to regain the title they won in 2015, though Barkley said they were lucky then because their road was filled with teams weakened by injuries. Cleveland was already without Kevin Love in those Finals and lost Kyrie Irving near the end of Game 1.The Cavs were healthy last year, and Barkley picked them to beat the Warriors. When I told you they couldnt play that little small ball and win a championship if everybody they played was healthy, that theyd wear down, and they did. I told you Cleveland was going to beat them and they did, Barkley said during a lunch before TNTs Inside the NBA studio team was elected to the Broadcasting Hall of Fame.Barkley and the team will host their show Tuesday night in Cleveland outside Quicken Loans Arena, where the Cavaliers will receive their rings before facing New York in their season opener. The Warriors will play San Antonio in the nightcap of TNTs doubleheader.Barkley, a Hall of Fame player who never won a championship, was disappointed that Durant left Oklahoma City for an easier chance at a title with the star-studded Warriors, who have two-time MVP Stephen Curry and fellow All-Stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. If they win, Barkley said, the title wont mean as much to Durant as it would have in Oklahoma City, where he had played since the Thunder franchise moved from Seattle in 2008 after his rookie season. Durant has been booed in rival arenas since his decision and has angered some of his former fans with what appeared to be criticisms of Russell Westbrook and his former team.Hes made himself a villain by taking all these shots at Oklahoma City for no reason. Theres no reason for that, Barkley said. He left, hes happy, shut up. When youre taking shots at Russell and those guys, thats not necessary. Ouellette, from Montreal, already has three Olympic gold medals since joining the team in 1999. Wade Davis Jersey . Clarkson had been dealing with an elbow injury in early January and will be out of action for at least one week. He has three goals and five assists through 36 games with the Leafs this season. David Dahl Jersey . The Americans, skipped by John Shuster, seized the advantage in the eighth end by scoring five points for a 7-3 lead. The Czechs pulled two back in the ninth, but Shusters team of third Jeff Isaacson, second Jared Zezel and lead John Landsteiner ended with another point to secure the last Olympic berth on offer. NEW YORK -- Nick Monroe went tumbling over the wall and suddenly realized it was a long way down, the world moving in slow motion as he fell head first toward the concrete floor. The American doubles player was crumpled on the ground for more than five minutes during Sundays U.S. Open match, too dizzy to stand up. He was eventually able to walk back on court under his own power, and after passing a concussion test, he returned to finish out the last three games. In the third set of his match with Donald Young on the new Grandstand, Monroe chased after a volley hit at a sharp angle and slid into a knee-high barrier along the side of the court. He flipped over the wall, and on the other side, the base of the stands is lower than the court.Just saw the ball and ran for it, he said, and didnt realize the wall was there.Monroe added he was fairly certain he never lost consciousness and was aware of the score and the situation the whole time. Young climbed over the barrier to check on him and Monroe could hear what he was saying, but he was too dizzy to move for a couple of minutes.Their opponents, Spains Pablo Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, also came over to see if he was OK as medical sttaff attended to Monroe.dddddddddddd He was then taken inside for close to 10 minutes for concussion tests as Young sat in his changeover chair and the Spaniards hit the ball back and forth to each other on court to stay warm. The 34-year-old Monroe said he was put through a series of balance tests and asked to recite the months and the days of the week backward, and he passed everything. The teams had split the first two sets and the Americans trailed 4-2 in the third when the incident happened. Monroe held in his next service game, but the Spaniards closed out the 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory to reach the quarterfinals.Monroe said about an hour after the match that he was still a bit dizzy and medical staff wanted him to come back to the tennis center over the next few days to continue to check on him. Hes never had a concussion before.I guess in tennis you dont really hit your head anywhere, he said with a chuckle.Monroe called the accident just a freak thing.Youre just so in the moment, he said. You want to win that bad, and you see the ball and you just go get it. ' ' '
