Before we see Tim Tebow on a baseball diamond, lets assume that any team signing Tebow would be doing it as a marketing play. He would, without a doubt, be the biggest name in minor league baseball since one Michael Jordan was barnstorming with the White Soxs Double-A affiliate, the Birmingham Barons. With that in mind, here are the top five teams were guessing would be interested for business reasons alone:1. Miami Marlins: Although they struggle with game attendance, the Marlins love buzz and they arent scared to make it (see: bringing back Barry Bonds as a hitting instructor). Plus, theyre in Florida, which significantly increases Tebows value. If theres money to be made off Tebow here, the Marlins can cash in more than anyone. Why? Because its not obvious that Tebow can get to the big leagues, so the money opportunity comes at the lower levels. They have spring training in Florida, their high-Class A minor league team is in Jupiter and their Double-A team is in Jacksonville, where Tebow played his high school ball.2. Colorado Rockies: Although Peyton Manning came in and led the Broncos to the Super Bowl, theres still plenty of love for Tim Tebow in Colorado, the only place in his NFL career where he made some impact. Also, they have a Class A team in Asheville, North Carolina, smack dab in the heart of SEC country.3. Atlanta Braves: With the focus on the immediate money, we put the Braves in the third position. Why? Its 100 miles between Gainesville, Florida, and Lake Buena Vista, where the Braves have spring training at the Disney complex. As far as the most diverse demographic for a player who draws the Good Morning America viewers, this is it. Keep in mind, spring training is pretty much the only time the team is guaranteed to make money from Tebow.4. San Diego Padres: The Padres are a dark horse here. This is solely based on their decision to draft Johnny Manziel in the 28th round of the 2014. After the Padres did it, they made custom Manziel jerseys and started selling them in their team store despite the fact that they werent allowed to because Manziel never signed. They eventually pulled the jerseys, but it showed that they were interested in the merchandising play. The Padres, like all teams, would make money that didnt have to be shared with the league from selling Tebow jerseys only if they sold them at Petco Park or at official team stores. But with the way things are going in San Diego, that move alone could pay for Tebow and add some much-needed excitement around the team.5. Tampa Bay Rays: After six consecutive winning seasons and a trip to the World Series, the Rays are now headed for their third straight losing campaign. Theres the Florida play, and theres no such thing as a distraction at this point. Buy Air Max 97 Cheap . James Veaudry Pembroke, ON -- Hey Kerry, Youll get a lot of these, but why was the Montreal goal against Nashville Saturday night overturned? Eller puts the puck on net and the on ice ruling from the ref behind the net is a Montreal goal. NEW YORK -- Angelique Kerber earned the No. 1 ranking before she stepped on court, then she went out and looked like a top-ranked player.Kerber has reached her third major final of the year after dispatching Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets at the US Open. The German won the first four games en route to a 6-4, 6-3 victory that set up a rematch with Karolina Pliskova, who denied Kerber the No. 1 ranking a few weeks ago at the Cincinnati Open final. At the start of 2016, Kerber had never made a Grand Slam final. She could end the year as a two-time major champ. In January, she advanced to the Australian Open title match and beat Serena Williams. Kerber also played for the championship at Wimbledon; however, she lost to Williams. At 28, Kerber is the oldest woman to reach No. 1 for the first time, and shes the first German to do so since her idol and mentor, Steffi Graf.Kerber would have overtaken Williams for the top spot had she defeated Pliskova in the Cincinnati Open final Aug. 21. Instead, Pliskova won that day for a breakthrough title and has been riding the momentum ever since. After that, I was just telling myself, OK, I will get one more chance, Kerber said. Now after I can relax a little bit and try to enjoy this special night today.Pliskova upset a hobbled Williams in the first semifinal Thursday, which clinched No. 1 for Kerber, who was doing all she could not to think about ascending to the top of the rankings as she prepared to take the court.Im growing and Im not pputting the pressure on my shoulders if something like this happens, she said.ddddddddddddOn match point, Kerber hit a backhand that appeared to be heading long, and Wozniacki was going to let it go until she realized the ball might have clipped the baseline. She swung too late and sent the ball sailing out to end the match instead of challenging the call.I got a few texts, but that just made me feel worse, Wozniacki said. But at the end of the day, I dont think [challenging] it would have made a difference. Not with the way Kerber was relentlessly hammering her shots. Wozniacki even mixed in a few moon balls but to no avail. Usually content to play defense, Wozniacki found herself trying to force the issue and made an uncharacteristic 26 unforced errors.A two-time runner-up at Flushing Meadows, she arrived at this years tournament ranked No. 74 in the world after missing 2 1/2 months because of an ankle injury. She was seeking to become the lowest-ranked womens finalist at the US Open, other than an unranked Kim Clijsters in 2009.Probably people ruled me out, but its nice to prove people wrong once again, Wozniacki said. How much longer might she keep trying to prove people wrong? Just as she had after her quarterfinal victory, Wozniacki declined to address a question about reports that her father told media she could retire in the next year or two. ' ' '
